Congratulations to all of our athletes for a very successful season in 2009 / 2010. No matter if you win medals or awards, or not, you have done us all proud. Thank you also to our dedicated parents who volunteer their time as officials, committee members and great supporters of this sport. Thank you and farewell to a very special committee member - Jenny Airs (Life Member), for all of your efforts during the past 16 years. Other committee members to step down are Krysten, Harry and Jo, and I thank you all on behalf of all our members. Welcome to new members for the 2010 / 2011 season in Peter, Joanne and Michelle. I'd also like to thank the members returning for another rewarding season - Nick, Bill, Ian, Mark, Geof and Amanda. I am sure this will be another productive season and a very exciting one. One person who should be thanked is Deb for all her work calculating our IGA shopping dockets during last season. We gathered nearly $300,000 worth of dockets with the help of our great supporters, Coburg Harriers. Deb had the challenging task of straightening all the dockets and adding them up. Hours of work which we appreciate very much. More information will be available shortly for the new season. In the mean time, good luck to our athletes who have taken on the challenge of Cross Country. Enjoy !!! Kathleen

It is my pleasure to announce that Coburg finished 5th in the LA Victoria Top Centre Awards for season 2009 / 2010. Last year, we finished 3rd and the year before 13th. I congratulate the athletes, parents, volunteers and committee members from both the centre and clubs who made this possible. Congratulations to Ringwood (EMR) who won the Top Centre Award and to Diamond Valley, Essendon, Keilor, Hume, Whittlesea City who all finished in the top 11. An awesome result for NMR !!! The criteria used to assess the award is based on the Registration and Affiliation process, supporting the events offered by the Association (Relays, Multis, Track & Field and Cross Country), and a visit to the Centre to ensure they are complying with policies set by the Association. |
